Laurie Prinzivalli and Terry Fingar gave the sermons and children's stories when Pastor Judy was vacationing
BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich
Happy Summer!  Many of us are vacationing and enjoying the lakes and outdoor activities.  Pastor Judy has been vacationing with family.  Terry Fingar and Laurie Prinzivalli are taking lay steward training classes, and have done an excellent job leading us in worship in her absence.  Thank you Terry and Laurie.

Laurie and Terry discussed special gifts God gives us.  We all have unique talents; we all are different.  He gives us what we need to make us happy.  In turn, we use these talents to help others.  Some of the gifts members of our congregation have include gifts of music, poems, caring for children, helping with the internet and technical challenges, gardening, and stewardship to others. Many of us help at the Living Well, backpack program, and Christmas for the Needy.  We also help on various church committees and programs.  The Yates county community showed how it could pull together to help others during the May 2014 flood.  What wonderful opportunities we have have to serve The Lord and use those special gifts!

Keep the date for our summer pulled pork barbecue at the Bluff Point Church.  August 2nd from 12 Noon until 4 PM.  Adults - $9.00; children 5-12 - $5.00; under 5 - free. Menu- pulled pork, salt potatoes, cole slaw, roll and dessert.  Take-outs available.  Community welcome.

Our UMW lunch at the Antique Inn continues on Tuesdays at noon.  All ladies welcome, sorry guys!

We still need volunteers at the Living Well, which our church is supporting with the other United Methodist churches of Yates County, and others who have joined with us.  Volunteering involves helping at our Elm Street, Penn Yan location 3 hours at a time, Monday through Thursday.  We help others in need with emergency food, basic needs and spiritual, and physical support and well-being.   Let Terry Fingar, our coordinator, know if you can help in any way.  There will be someone who can train you, and you will not be alone when you volunteer.  Our church has taken Wednesday afternoon as our time slot, but one can help out at any of the other times we are open.  Many thanks!
