Laurie Prinzivalli discusses the "light", while sharing how she read with her
flashlight at night when she was a child
BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

It has been very interesting at BPUMC with Pastor Judy on vacation.  Laurie Prinzivalli and Terry Fingar have done excellent jobs sharing God's word with us in Judy's

Bruce Westerdahl shared with us that this is the 25th anniversary of the BPUMC modern-day choir, established by the vision of Lorna Burton, with others.  Our choir sings nearly every week, with selections in addition, by duets, solos and musical arrangements.  What a blessing!

Gene James and Ron Sayler have been in Buffalo, NY playing in the world horseshoe competition.  We await their results as I write this; they always fare very well!

Laurie Prinzivalli's children's Sermon centered on how Christ's light can shine on and within us.  Each child was given a small light.

Terry Fingar gave the sermon this past week.  She compared personal struggles with her own long walk down and then up the steep hill on West Bluff Drive.  It takes strength and courage after one is at a low to climb back up.  Terry felt God's gentle breeze help her get back up the hill, when she otherwise might have felt she couldn't have accomplished the ascent.  Terry reminded us that God always is with us with the warmth of the sun (and son) on our back, helping us with that push to meet our goal.

We are fortunate to have had our two lay servants- Laurie and Terry- guide us in our last two worship services.  Thank you, ladies!

Just a reminder of our pulled pork barbecue at our church on 8/2/14; take outs or eat in available.  Time:  12:00 noon- 4 pm.  This will be fun, and a great meal!  Apple crisp dessert will be so tasty!

Happy summer and vacations!  We welcome all visitors and vacationers to our 9a Sunday services.
