Newly engaged couple Pastor Judy White and Art Wunder, planning their wedding in mid-November

BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

On a beautiful August Sunday, Pastor Judy announced her engagement to Art Wunder.  They both are very happy, and planning a small ceremony in November.  We wish them many happy years together!

Today Pastor Judy anointed parishioners with oil from Bethlehem, the healing Balm of Giliad.

Pastor Judy used the puppets Lamb-Chop and Wrinkles to tell the children that they should not form groups and clubs to exclude others, but think of JOY-  Jesus, others, and yourself, and invite others to join in fun and fellowship.  She later explained in her sermon that it is not fair to take the children's food and feed it to the dogs; we are like the dogs under the table gathering the crumbs.  What comes out of your mouth is what makes you who you are, not what goes in.  Its not what we eat, but what we say and do.

The wet summer has kept everything growing!  We do have many beautiful plantings and flowers around the church to tend to.  Despite Chris Wyant's gardening efforts, she needs help keeping up with the weeds!  Please coordinate with her if you can help.  Phil Pearce and the church trustees are also planning some maintenance and beautification projects around and inside the church this fall, so there are many volunteer opportunities to help!

Musical Sunday is August 31.  It will highlight Ron Miller, the men's choir, and orchestral numbers, as well as our wonderful adult choir.  Visitors are welcomed to join in our musical service.
