Phil Pearce and Chris Wyant get suited up for the Adopt-a-Highway road clean-up on a late October 75 degree day.
BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

Pastor Judy and Art Wunder were married by Art's son, Rev Tom Wunder at the Yatesville United Methodist Church on October 25th.  It was a beautiful day for a fall wedding, the church was adorned with colorful seasonal mums.  The Yatesville congregation provided a lovely reception for the new couple following the ceremony, complete with an amazing cake made by one of its members as his gift to the newlyweds.

Stacy Wyant gave our Sunday message this past week, as Pastor Judy was on her honeymoon.  His sermon followed the scripture of Matthew 22: 34-46.  His words showed how we can take sorrow into praise by self inspection of our relationship with Christ.  Loving God with heart, body and soul is the greatest commandment.  Thank you Stacy for your inspiration.

Condolences and prayers to Meredith Nielsen and family in the passing of Don Nielsen.  He had been ill at home for quite some time, and lovingly cared for by Meredith at their home.  He was a long time member of our church, and enjoyed participating in its functions.  He will be missed!

October 28 was our fall Adopt-a-highway 2-mile cleanup.  Ron Salyer, Dick Smith, Joyce Wiedrich, Phil Pearce and Chris Wyant got the job done on a beautiful day.  Afterwords, Phil installed some emergency lighting while Chris and Joyce painted the front entrance to the dining area.  What a blessing to have a summer like day in late fall for these jobs!  We are fortunate to have volunteers to help upkeep our church.

Our Stewardship Program called "Treasure" has begun.  This will be a series of reflections where we will share the power of making God our treasure.

Remember mittens, hats and scarves for the mitten tree.  It will be only a few weeks until these are given out at the annual Yates County "Christmas for the Needy" at the Armory in Penn Yan.  Help keep our youngsters warm in the winter months to come.
