BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

We have begun our 4-week stewardship program, called Treasure.  It is based on the passage from Matthew 6:21, "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."  The children's lesson was also based on this passage, and written by Pastor Judy's grandson, Dameyon Miller-Cotten.  In this lesson, Pastor Judy gave each of the children a handful of chocolate candy, but took them back for safe keeping into a treasure chest.  This was taken to a safe place, but a pirate (Dameyon)  took the box, and the candy.  When Pastor Judy opened the chest, there was a big red paper heart inside for each child.  Building on this theme, Pastor Judy reflected on the many moves in life, explaining that the "stuff" she collected was not important, but instead the relationships with her family, and the fun times playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her new bridegroom.

Bible Study resumes this week, Wednesdays at church at 10am.

The mitten tree will be up until December 7th.  That week will be both setup at the Armory and shopping and distribution at the Armory and local Penn Yan churches for "Christmas for the Needy".  See Donna Johnston if you can help with set up December 8 and 9, or distribution December 10 and 11.  This has been a difficult year, and many people depend on this program to help with Christmas preparations for their families.

We have a Christmas family chosen.  This family includes a mom, dad, and three little boys.  See Laurie Prinzivalli if you wish to take an "angel" and purchase needed items for the family members for Christmas.

Our BPUMC annual Christmas caroling will be on December 14.  The holidays are creeping up quickly!

We welcome visitors to join us at any of our activities, and at our Sunday 9a services.
