12-24-14 Article

One of our faithful members, Ernie Pinneo recently celebrated his birthday.  We had a cake for our December birthdays, and for Jesus!

We celebrated Joy, the third Sunday of Advent with Pastor Judy sharing with us the glory to God through worship and obedience.  "Good news, the birth of Christ!  Glory!"  Pastor Judy's sermon proclaimed the message of Christ--"Glooory!"  Jesus is the light of the world, a light in darkness.

Many of our members helped with "Christmas for the Needy".  A record number of families are helped by this program, giving families food, clothing, books, and toys.

We joined other local churches and The Living Well in caroling at Clinton Crest, the Penn Yan Manor, the Homestead, and Keuka Comfort Care Home on Sunday afternoon, 12/14.  The smiles and joys of the residents singing the familiar carols reminded all that this is the spirit of the Christmas season.  We ended with refreshments back at The Living Well.

Wednesday morning Bible study at church will recess until after the New Years holiday.  See you again in 2015 as we share the Word.

Please join us at our family Christmas Eve service at 7:00 pm 12/24.  Come early, as the church fills quickly.

The congregation of BPUMC wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas!
