01-28-15 Article

Bruce Westerdahl recently turned 84.  He quipped to me, "the best us yet to come!"

Greetings from our lovely little country church!

This weeks lesson centered on listening.  It centered on the scripture from 1 Samuel 1-10 with Samuel being repeatedly called by Jesus, not realizing the voice was that of Jesus, thinking his caregiver Eli was calling for him.  As our church children gathered, Pastor Judy told them a secret to tell the congregation that "GOD IS LOVE".  In her sermon, Pastor Judy challenged us to listen to what God has to say.  She asked each of us if we knew then God was talking to us, and if we listened to what he has to say.  When we wake each day we should consider saying "Good morning God!  What do you have for me to do today?"
The service closed singing the beautiful hymn "Here I am, Lord".

Condolences to Sandy and Brian Wilmott in the sudden passing of Sandy's mother Beverly Hesse.  Our prayers are with all of the family at this difficult time.

We are glad to hear from our snowbirds and look forward to their return in the spring!  Many keep up with us with this column, on our web page or on our Facebook page.  We welcome visitors; please join us Sundays at 9:00am, with fellowship following the service.
