Sarah Stackhouse and Barbara Bailey prepared an array of tasty items they lovingly baked for fellowship after church on Sunday
BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

After Pastor Judy untangled the lines on her fishing poles, she gave a lesson to the children based on scripture lessons from  Jonah 3: 1-5, and Mark 1: 14-29.  She had one fishing pole which was old and dusty, without a line.  The second had a line, but no hook.  The third had a line and hook, and was ready to go.  She compared the poles to people- some need to be dusted off and readied in order to follow Jesus.  Jesus does want us to be fishers of people, and use his teachings and ways as we interact with others in our daily lives.

In her sermon, Pastor Judy expanded on this theme, asking each of us what we could find to bring Christ to others in ministry, such as teaching Sunday School, or serving at the Living Well.  There is much to do in sharing the love of Christ using our time and talents.

We closed this service singing the beautiful hymn "Lord, you have come to the Lakeshore", reminding us of the beauty in our area that has been given to us.

Come join with us on Sunday, or at Bible Study at church Wednesdays at 10:00 am.  Visitors are always a welcomed at our spirited and loving church.
