Great Country - July 2015

Great Country

As sparklers and fireworks light up the night sky
I hope we will be ever so thankful this 4th of July

For this great country that is our place of birth
I truly believe it is the best place on earth

We all do a lot of complaining but we live better than the majority of the world
We have the right to worship and a education for every boy and girl

We are free to travel wherever we wish to go
We have a right to bear arms from a shotgun to a bow

Good or bad we have a right to free speech
We can state our opinion in a newspaper or on a beach

We have great police officers that put their lives in harms way everyday
We have servicemen and women that defend the American way

We have brave fire fighters that save lives and property because they know they have a job to do
We have ambulance drivers and great doctors and nurses that come to the rescue

We have garbage men, mechanics, factory workers, office workers, teachers all making a difference in the way we live
The hearts of the American people are generous in how we feel compassion and give

We have lakes and streams, hills and valleys, mountains and marsh land
God didn't leave anything out with the swipe of his precious hand

We have a hodgepodge of nationalities that are Americans that live here
In the land of the free and the home of the brave that we hold so dear

We all need to pray for America that we get back on the right track
If we want to have change we need to use our right to vote and that's a fact

We need to stand up more for God and put him back into everything where he belongs
Man's way is not working debating all of the pros and cons

Our lawmakers need to pray and ask God for advice
Before it is too late or the American people will pay the price
