Many from the BPUMC joined the hundreds at the Community Worship Service and picnic at Red Jacket Park on August 16.

August 16 marked the beginning of what is likely to become a repeated event as many churches joined together to worship and share their ministries together on a beautiful Sunday on Keuka Lake.  The service included a free will offering to benefit Yates County Habitat for Humanity.  The story was shared of how Millard Fuller, at a low point in his life, started Habitat to help others as they helped themselves.  As a result of this, many homes have been built or refurbished in our local area.

Pastor Judy White-Wunder showed the children through her puppets Wrinkles and Lamb-chop, that Wrinkles should not build his doghouse on the sandy shore, but on stable ground.  Pastor Sandi Perl gave the scripture lesson from Matthew 7:  24-27, part of the Sermon on the Mount.  Pastor Jeff Child's sermon followed, and was based on Jesus' words - the wise will listen to Jesus and build a good foundation on bedrock.  If we also stay close to Jesus, who is the solid rock, he will never let us down.

The service was a time of sharing, as is Habitat for Humanity, as people work to accomplish something together.

BPUMC had its successful pulled pork dinner on 8/15.  Thanks to chef John Prinzivalli and crew for cooking and serving all of the take outs for this venture!

Join us for our musical Sunday at BPUMC on August 30th.  These musical Sundays are held on the last Sunday of each month that graces us with a special 5th Sunday.
