10-28-15 Article

Meredith Nielsen was one of the  13 disciples that generously helped out with our recent Adopt-a-Highway two mile stretch for the BPUMC.

BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich
We recently had a date night in, and a great soup dinner at BPUMC thanks to chef John Prinzivalli, whose culinary talents provided chili, Italian wedding soup, and cheddar potato soup.  It was yummy.  Afterwords we watched a movie together, Akeelah and the Bee. Good times!

Thanks to Pam and John Althouse, Curt and Michele Covert, Dick Smith, Ron Salyer, Meredith Nielsen, Phil Pearce, Gordon Bascom, Helen Schillinger, Sarah Stackhouse and Blanche Fingar for joining me to complete the road clean up for October.  It is always a good feeling to get the job done before the leaves fall.

This past Sunday centered again on passages from Job.  Pastor Judy told the children that they should trust God.  God is God all of the time.  She gave all of the children a small ball, significant for there being no beginning or no end.  We are the most important things on God's creation.

She returned to the scripture in Job to show how Job lost it all, even when he had done nothing wrong.  Satan was allowed to test Job.  The Lord answered Job out of a whirlwind and told him to gird up his loins like a man, or brace himself, or as Ron Salyer often says, "Pull up your little girl panties and deal with it".

Pastor Judy announced months ago that she will be retiring December 31, 2015.  She has brought such joy, hope and spirit in her ministry at BPUMC, in delivering God's message to us.  Her friendship will continue, and her teachings will always remain within us. Stacy Wyant announced that Sandi Perl will become our pastor as of January 1, 2016.  Many of us know Sandi's kind ways and dedication through her work at The Living Well.  She will continue with that work as well as pastor our church.  We wish both Pastor Judy and Pastor Sandi our prayers and best wishes as they both make these monumental transitions in their lives and in the churches and congregations they have and will serve.

Looking forward to our two-day Lancaster trip over Veterans' Day with Pastor Judy.  The bus is full!  Best wishes also to Pastor Judy as she and Art celebrate their first wedding anniversary.  Cheers!
