Pastor Judy became a school pupil in the Amish school we visited on our recent trip to Lancaster.
BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

What a wonderful time we had in Lancaster at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster, seeing the dynamic production of "The Miracle of Christmas".  We also had some great meals and visited an Amish school and working farm as we toured the countryside.

Our past Sunday was Veterans Day Sunday.  Jeff and Ellie Stempien gave a moving musical tribute to all of the Armed Services.

Pastor Judy asked the children what they did to earn their pennies for the backpack program.  Some cleaned their rooms, and others did other chores.  The children bring their pennies every week.

Our sermon today spoke of veterans.  A veteran, explained Pastor Judy, is a person who gives of service over and over again.  We are veterans of faith. Our service veterans give of them self, facing danger and sometimes giving themselves as the ultimate sacrifice.  The scripture lesson showed how Hannah, through perseverance, love and sacrifice gave her worldly possessions and her son Samuel to God, who became one of the greatest prophets.

November 29th is musical Sunday, and the first Sunday in Advent.  We will have Christmas
music through the 9a service.  Come join us in our heartfelt welcome to the Christmas season.
