Pastor Judy presents Ernie Pinneo with a gift on the occasion of his 90-something birthday.  He has been regularly attending church here for over 90  years!

BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich
This past Sunday we celebrated Ernie Pinneo's birthday with December birthday cake and a card shower.  He truly is a faithful BPUMC parishioner.

Pastor Judy reported that 400 families and over 800 children were served by the "Yates County Christmas". Many from our congregation participated by helping at the Armory with this two-day event to help support families in Yates county who need help at Christmastime.  The program supplies quilts, clothing, toys and games, food, gift cards, mittens, hats, toiletries and other items to designated families in our area.  What a remarkable program!

Pastor Judy told the children the story of the candy cane.  The J shape stands for Jesus, and also for the shepard's crook; the white color is for purity, and the red coloring the blood he shed for us.

We were awed by a u-tube video telling the story of Millie Bloomquist, a woman from Penn Yan, led by God in her calling to help local children by the "backpack program" and other ventures.  Our children contribute to this each Sunday with all of their collected pennies.

Many of us went caroling this past Sunday at the local nursing homes and hospice home.  It is a delight to see the smiles of the residents as they join in the carols!

Just a reminder, Christmas Eve service is at 7:00 pm.  It will be a wonderful musical service.
