BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich
What a wonderful surprise this past Sunday when we had a surprise party for Pastor Judy on the occasion of her retirement at the end of this month.  She was presented a beautiful quilt made by Jane Salyer and Deb Smith, with 90 hearts from congregation members and families, inscribed with loving messages from all of us.  Happy Retirement Pastor Judy and Art Wunder.  We love you!

The last Sunday in Advent was marked by a special church service, including lovely musical solos by both Aimee Perry and Emmaleigh Stempien, and a flute duet by Jeff Stempien and Robin DeSantis during the offertory.

The congregation participated in an Amish Christmas for the children, singing a typical Amish greeting to familiar carols.  Many of us learned of Amish Christmas traditions from a recent church trip to Lancaster in mid-November.

Our Sunday School children presented a gorgeous Christmas nativity, in front of the alter. The whole service of song and sharing was so heartfelt.

Following the church service, John Prinzivalli prepared a tasty brunch to accompany a cake wishing Judy and Art a happy retirement.  This was one day that we found Pastor Judy literally speechless and with tears of joy from all of the surprises we had in store for her!

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year 2016 from the members of the BPUMC!
