Guess who recently celebrated his birthday?  Doug Fingar was recently one of those honored at our Bluff Point United Methodist Church's January Birthday Sunday!

Pastor Sandi challenged us to think in a new way, this new year.  She wants us all to become more aware and appreciate what we have in life, to follow a new vision, open to change.  Most of us are not in need of material things.  When we give to others, we receive more!  She challenged us to love the ones who do wrong to us, and not to get caught up in what people think, but to do the right thing.

Laurie Prinzivalli read a poem by our poet laureate, Blanche Fingar.  It was amazing to contrast how well it fit into Pastor Sandi's sermon, beginning that in our ministry we had lost a wonder (Judy White-Wunder) but gained a pearl (Sandi Perl).  Blanche has such a way tying her words into amazing and timely messages.

Put these dates on the calendar!  A fundraising lasagna dinner will be held at church on Saturday February 6th. The following Tuesday February 9th will be our Fat Tuesday pancake dinner.

Pastor Sandi is restarting weekly Bible study on Wednesdays at 10am.  All are welcome!

Stay warm especially since our weather has turned wintery, and come worship with us!
