Jeff Stempien and Russ Heggie pin hearts on a blanket on "Blanket Sunday".  We took a contribution to buy blankets for those in need around the world for warmth and shelter.

Today was blanket Sunday.  We had hearts passed out in church and wrote a message with our contribution towards buying blankets this blanket Sunday.

School is back in session after a busy summer.  We have completed many painting and upkeep jobs around the church over these warm, sunny summer days.

Pastor Sandi spoke to us today on forgiveness, an appropriate message for the 15th anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks.  She brought up the point that if you can not be the example, how will you ever forgive?  She portrayed how annoying the term "forgive and forget" is, as well as "let it go", feeling the better term is " let it go to the Lord".

Pastor Sandi passed out cloth bags provided by Marilyn James to the children, after blessing their backpacks.  One stone was to carry, showing the love of Christ.  The second is to put in the backpack, and the third to give away to another, to show them the safety and love of Jesus.  We also had two prayer shawls to pray over.  To date, our
Prayer Shawl Ministry has distributed 366 prayer shawls to those who have faced illness or otherwise have been in need of special support, warmth and prayer.  There will be a banquet on 10/16 honoring those in our church who have crocheted or knitted these shawls over the years.

Harvest Dinner is 11/5.  BPUMC always has a great harvest meal, so put it on the calendar!

October Family First Friday is 10/21.  These evening gatherings are a great time of sharing, even for those of us who don't have kids!

On 10/23 we will assemble our Christmas boxes for the "shoebox ministry" during Sunday School.  These shoeboxes go around the world and to underserved areas in the US, where children might otherwise not receive a gift for Christmas.  See Laurie Prinzivalli if you wish to contribute or help with this project.

Every one is welcome to join us for Sunday Service in our little country church, or with any of our numerous activities through the week!
