Marilyn Sands and Barbara Bailey provided delicious treats after church.  We have a sharing coffee time after church every Sunday.

Today our own Terry Fingar gave the messages to the children and in the adult sermon.  The theme was about temptation.  Terry showed the children brightly frosted cupcakes, which they all oohed over.  She had with her also a bag of cat treats, showing that even animals are tempted!  When we go to the store or clothes shopping, we all buy more than we need or can ever use.  She also spoke about meanness and bullying.  She shared with the kids that if a person treats you badly you should say something nice to them to turn them around.

Many of us were recently able to see Gordon Bascom's grandson Cooper Bascom participate in the blind auditions on the NBC program "The Voice".  Cooper and his sister Mallory have shared their music in our church on numerous occasions.  What a talent!

Don't forget to sign up for the Prayer Shawl banquet on October 16th if you have participated in this ministry.

We are collecting money to purchase items for the "Shoebox Ministry" providing Christmas to children around the world.  These will be assembled by our Sunday School kids.

Our adopt-a-highway fall road clean up of our two mile stretch on 54-A is scheduled for Wednesday October 5th.  Please meet at church at 9am to help us out.  Many hands make light work, and you will benefit from some early morning exercise!
