Sarah Stackhouse and Blanche Fingar dish up pies at our recent BPUMC Harvest Supper.

BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich
What a busy week it has been!  We sold over 200 dinners at our recent harvest supper- turkey and all the trimmings.  Thanks to all that helped make this evening a success.  It was a very tasty dinner with much support from our community.

We celebrated All Saints Sunday with Blanche Fingar reading the names of people from our church family that went to their eternal home this past year, including Maddie Kelley, Ron Sargent, Kathy Rodenberry, and Norma Hubbard.  They are loved and missed.  We lit candles in memory of love ones who are in their eternal home following communion.

We held an election day prayer vigil for the future of our country for leadership and compassion, throughout the day and evening.

Evening Bible study begins at Babs' home on 11/17 at 6pm.  The discussion will be based on the book "Not a Silent Night".  Small group study continues at 10a on Wednesdays at the church.

Bring in hats and mittens to support the Yates County Christmas.  Colder weather certainly is on the way!  Also please remember to bring items to church that you have signed up for, for our six Thanksgiving baskets.

Laurie Prinzivalli gave an excellent message as we look at our personal stewardship toward our church.  She looked at our many missions, including: Prayer Shawl Ministry, New Hope Prayer Shawl support for cancer patients, Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan's Purse, the Turkey Walk, Mitten Tree, Angel Tree, support for Yates County Christmas, Bell ringing prior to Thanksgiving, college student ministry, Adopt-a-Highway road clean-up, support of Habitat for Humanity (now on its 16th local house), Grandma's Kitchen, Milly's Pantry-backpack program, The Living Well, UMCOR, Thanksgiving baskets, singing at local nursing homes, support of the Food Pantry, Crop Walk, and our college scholarship program. We are a very busy little church whose members diligently help support many causes.
