BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

It brought eight of us from BPUMC so much joy to sing at our nursing homes on Veteran's Day weekend after church.  Thanks to Sandi, Russ, Jean, Joyce, Laurie, Millie, Meredith, and Barb for helping to cheer the afternoon for so many of our nursing home residents.  Many of them were Vets, and requested we sing their service songs.  Many joined in singing the familiar melodies and hymns with us.  I am sure we will do this again next year, remembering so many who have served our country.

We soon will be entering the Christmas season with hanging of the greens at church.  We have adopted an Angel Tree family to support with holiday gifts and cheer.  This week on Wednesday November 23rd we will be "Ringing the Bells" at Tops Market in Penn Yan.  This is the major fund raiser for "Yates County Christmas".  Come and support us, or donate as you come in to the store for your holiday shopping.

We ended our stewardship campaign this week.  If you have not filled out your pledge card yet, remember to complete this soon and return it to church.

Pastor Sandi spoke again this Sunday on love of our country, its citizens and our Lord.  We all have callings to answer what God needs us to do to support his missions.

Happy Thanksgiving to all on this important week where we reflect on our many blessings.
