Pastor Sandi shows off our new lending library- with the bookcase tenderly made by Curt Covert.

BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich
What a busy time in our church year as we enter the Lenten season.  We sit with the mystery of what it all means.  Pastor Sandi explained that Jesus told his followers what was going to happen, and foretold of his own death.

This past Sunday we presented our 400th prayer shawl to people undergoing need of prayer, many of these folks we don't even know, but we know Jesus knows them, and what their needs are.  The shawls are crafted and prayed over by members of our congregation, thanks to this ministry started by Nancy Wilmott.

We will be having Communion at church every Sunday during Lent, as we celebrate these mini Easters.

Fat Tuesday was celebrated by a pancake supper, and Ash Wednesday by a short service and light supper following.  As a reminder, the combined Lenten Lunch gatherings are on Thursdays in Penn Yan, sponsored by the United Council of Churches.

On March 11th at 5:30 we are having a baked potato supper at church.  The potatoes are provided.  Bring your appetite and toppings to share.
