Caralynne and Aidan help their grandfather Jeff Stempien roast marshmallows on the fire pit at Pastor Sandi and Dave's welcome fall picnic at their home.

BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich
Many of us from BPUMC had a great time at the pass-dish picnic at Pastor Sandi and Dave's home.  The evening was complete with roasted marshmallows, s'mores, and bonfires.  It was also great that many of our college students could join us for the evening.

Pastor Sandi's Sunday message centered on prayer and poetry, beginning with the creation story, "God called light day, and the evening night...". She pointed out all of the poems in Psalms and Proverbs, as well as the Lord's Prayer, before reading a poem by our own Blanche Fingar.

We celebrated blanket Sunday, with a reflection of how the blankets from Church World Service go to those in the US and abroad, in need.

We recently collected $974.00 for UMCOR to go toward flood relief from Hurricane Harvey.  We will be passing the buckets next for UMCOR relief for Hurricane Irma for people in Florida, and the SE United States,   We are called to be part of a bigger world, remembering as many fled from flood areas, others have driven or been flown in to help with relief and recovery efforts.
