Gene James, Stacey Wyant, Becky Laumeier pray with Pastor Sandi, as we continue with this month of prayer for our church, families, nation and the world.

BPUMC Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

We continue with this month of prayer in our church, as we also make financial decisions of how we will support our church this coming year.  Individuals had the opportunity to share specific prayer needs with our lay leaders and pastors during the service, a very uplifting process.  In stewardship we decide how we spend our money and time to support the missions of our church.

Paula Deter shared her testimony of financial struggles she and Eric had during early years of their marriage with lean times and budgeting struggles, during sermon time.  She related how God answered their  prayers and always provides.  Thank you, Paula for your heart felt message.

Last week we collected $541.00 to support victims of Hurricane Irma.

Joyce Wiedrich is collecting hand towels to make "bears" to put in our "Operation Christmas Child" boxes.  Please consider bringing her in some more of these towels so we can have a cuddly useful animal in each of our boxes!

Becky Laumeier will facilitate an additional Bible study at their home Monday's beginning 10/16/17 at 1:30 pm.  These will be based on the book "What I wish Jesus never Said".  Participants will need to purchase the book prior to the sessions.  Contact Becky for details.

The Laity banquet is 10/8/17 in Geneva from 3:30-6:30.  Please sign up if you wish to attend by next Sunday.  Always a good time with other Methodists from the conference area.

Friend UMC needs help collecting snacks for kids.  Please help by bringing some snacks in to benefit the kids!

Our Methodist ladies continue to meet for noon lunch and fellowship at the Antique Inn.  They have started taking orders for our annual "nut sale."  See Jane Salyer if you can help by helping sell the nuts.

With school back in session, be careful as the kids are out on their bikes and crossing the streets.  We have had many recent warm summer like days where folks are all out playing and enjoying the outside.
