An unusual occurrence on 1/7 was cancelling Sunday church services due to blowing snow and -3 degree temperatures with concern for safety of the worshipers.  Predicted future weather appears much more tolerable, and church is back on its regular Sunday 9a schedule.  As I write this, it is still below freezing, but with the sun shining, it feels almost balmy!

On this past Tuesday the Bluff Point UMC ladies helped with Grandma's Kitchen, providing an after-school meal to Penn Yan students.  This is such a great program that helps our local kids.

A reminder from Deb Smith that we again will be joining together at church on Saturday January 20th to make dresses and shorts for Haitian children.  We need people to not only sew, but cut simple pieces, and hand sew trims; no sewing experience required.  For those of us that do sew, bring your machines.  Deb is planning a session from 9a- 3p, with a break for lunch.  You can join the group for all or part of this time period to help.  Contact Deb if you have further questions!

We recently finished our UMW nut sale campaign.  Thanks for all that helped with this successful endeavor.
