Beckie Laumeier gave a wonderful sermon, subbing for Pastor Sandi on 4/22/18 about choices--Jesus's choice or yours?

Welcome spring, (finally) with the return of more of our snowbirds!  We finally seem finished with the long season of snow.

Beckie Laumeier gave a children's sermon asking the children to line up either behind her, or behind Jeff Stempien.  Most lined up behind Jeff.  She then held up a bag of Reese's peanut butter cups, and asked them if it would have made any difference if they had known that chocolate was involved.

The adult sermon was based upon the same topic.  It started with the story of Silas and Paul, who were unfairly imprisoned.  They did what they were told to do, although not necessarily fair.  When an earthquake tore open the doors of the prison, when they could have easily escaped, they stayed, praying and singing, and remained true to God.  Beckie asked us if we were choosing the easy way, or God's way.  She challenged us to look at the choices we might face in life, and how we might choose differently.  Thank you Beckie, for a very thought provoking message.

May 3rd is national day of prayer.  We will have a prayer in front of the church followed by a lasagna dinner at 5:30 on that day.  Sign up sheets are in the pews.

We are collecting pillow cases to help our three youngsters who are in confirmation class.  They are requesting our help on 5/6/18 from 1:00-4:00 pm, as they make book marks and dresses for little girls in Haiti.  They are also collecting returnable bottles and cans.  Profits from their can drive will help support the Backpack Program.

Welcome all to our Sunday services at 9:00 am.  We have Sunday School for school-aged children, as well as nursery services available.
