Dana Schillinger, Jim Drumm and Helen Schillinger showcase snacks for Mothers Day snacks after church.

Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

This past Sunday we celebrated Mothers Day!  We celebrate and honor women who have influenced our lives, past and present.

Pastor Sandi spoke of teachings of John Wesley.  One of his saying was "Pray constantly against pride.  If God has casted out, see that it does not return."  These lessons go for today- if you do something not in the name of Jesus, don't do it again.  We are all here today to start a new day.  We are all able to show kindness to others and humility.

The children passed out chocolates and calendar books to the women of the church for Mother's  Day.  We had quite a full congregation, including the last of our returning snowbirds.

Christine Wyant has set up a day to do gardening and weeding at the church.  Bring your tools, garden gloves, and a few flowers to plant!  Sign up sheets are in the pews for May 24th- 9-11am or 4-6 pm.

A memorial service will be held on June 9th at 11am for our sister in Christ, Ruth Miller, who passed away this passed winter.  The family would like an idea of how many will be attending, so please let Pastor Sandi know prior to this date if you are planning to come.

Happy Spring!  Welcome this nice weather!
