This past Sunday was Pentecost Sunday, and also the day that Dameyon Miller-Cotton, Emmaleigh Stempien, and Marissa Sorensen were confirmed as members of the Bluff Point United Methodist Church. They have been working hard with their mentors over the past few months, and each read a meaningful creed they wrote about their relationship with Jesus.  Thanks to all who have been working with our new young members, and especially their families, who have given them much guidance along the way.

Jeff Stempien gave us a lesson on Paul.  Once a month we have been having various members of the congregation act the part of a man or woman of the Bible.  I think the adults take away as much as the kids do from these lessons.  Paul was reluctant at first, but became a great teacher of the ways of Jesus.   Jeff’s lesson was taken from the Book of Acts.

Pastor Sandi followed, also discussing Paul.  She told that Paul had wisdom and not a Pollyanna attitude.  He acted on lessons from his life.

Pastor Sandi also spoke about seasons, and the balance in life.  We need to find balance.  For everything that is hard for us, there is hope in what comes next.

Fourteen people participated in our route 54-A road clean up for Adopt-a-Highway this past week.  We were finished with our two-mile stretch in under an hour.  Thanks to all the helpers on such a nice spring day.  Participants included:  Ron Salyer, Trish DeMontfort, Dana Schillinger, Jean Morehouse, Sarah Stackhouse, Ron Grisham, Kish Swift, Dick Smith, Curt Covert, Russ Heggie, Gordon Bascom, Dale Blis, Michele Covert, Blanche Fingar, and Joyce Wiedrich.

On June 3rd at 10:30am we will have a church-wide Spring Cleaning.  Many hands make light work!  This should take less than two hours if many take part.
