Pastor Sandi and Dave have been visiting their daughter Allie, who is working with the Peace Corps in Uganda.  I am sure they will have many stories to share when they return.

We recently collected $943.00 to send through UMCOR for flood relief from Hurricane Florence which caused so much destruction in our southern states. We remember our own Penn Yan flood 4 1/2 years ago, with the long clean up process which followed.

Congratulations to Lynn Fitch who recently was named a Keuka Outstanding Alumnae, and also to their Board of Trustees.

We are working on our shoeboxes for “Operation Christmas Child”.  Take a box to fill if you would like, or maybe help with the postage, which is $9.00 a box this year.

We have chosen to partner with Gorham UMC from 11/4-11/11 as they support 14 homeless individuals.  Contact Babs if you want details of how to help.

Becki Laumeier  gave a message today based on the book of Timothy.  Timothy left as a pastor of a troubled church and was counseled by Paul.  The letter written was that his calling came from above, not from around.

One hour out of 168 hours in the week it is OK to give yourself to worship.  We need God and his presence.  We need to serve God, not for ourselves, but for those around us.  Church is not about ourselves, but of God.  Becki spoke of her grandson, who is always asking “why”?  She says instead, “why not”.

She asked the children what they brought to church.  Some of the girls brought their friends!  She spoke of keeping an open mind, heart and spirit to worship God.

Thank you Becki, for your thoughtful message!

Come worship with us at 9:00 am Sundays.  We have a joyful church.
