11-28-18 Article

We have much to pray on this season including turkey dinner baskets for our neighbors, and Operation Christmas Child boxes.

Pastor Sandi finished shopping and filling the Operation Christmas Child boxes. They were being collected at our church, and have been trucked to a distribution point to be distributed world-wide to children for Christmas.

Our baskets are filled with turkeys, stuffing, potatoes, jello, rolls, gravy and goodies to make Thanksgiving meals for eight local families.  Thanks to all who participated in our giving projects.

More of our snowbirds are leaving this week.  We wish all safe travels and will be anxious for their return in the spring.

We now are preparing for Christmas, and will have hanging of the greens in church.  Many of us rang the bells for Yates County Christmas, and will help with distribution of clothing outfits, mittens and hats, toys, books, quilts and gift cards for local families at the Armory in early December.  Many collect these items throughout the year to make a special Christmas for local families.

Our lesson today continued with the book of Numbers.  Moses spread out the leadership in the community.  Pastor Sandi asked us what abundance means to us.  It is hard to deal with too much- too much money, too many things, too much drama.  Sometimes too much wears on us.  The Lord is enough!
