Paula Detar made some delicious snacks for our social time after church, which we have weekly.  The first Sunday of the month is brunch.

Pastor Sandi shared today that there are 613 commandments in the Bible.  These are both types of light and heavy commandments.  365 are rules and the others are guides to what a good Jewish person should do.  Sometimes we are conflicted with these, and face a dilemma.  Should we break a commandment and not go to church on Sunday, or stop and help someone out on the road?

Pastor Sandi introduced us to Nicodemus, who was a Pharisee.  He first visited Jesus as told in the gospel of John 3, to discuss Jesus’s teachings.  Jesus told him that no one could enter the kingdom of God without being born of the water and the spirit.

Thanks to many who helped out with the children that came for two half days last week to learn more about Jesus and about praying.  The children also learned some new songs, which we will share next time, after they sing on 5th Musical Sunday.

For your calendar- the Yates County Hunger Walk is May 5th.
