Chris Wyant and Marilyn James were two of the parishioners from BPUMC who joined in the Yates County Hope Walk.

Gene James recounted that 16 members of BPUMC walked in the Yates County Hope Walk this past
Saturday.  8 of them we’re survivors of some type of cancer in their lifetime.  All the funds raised stay in Yates County to help residents with various needs during their care and treatment.  During the evening hours, survivors walk around the path of luminaries, based on the amount of survival time from cancer.  It is quite an amazing sight to see and participate in.

We continued our discussion on Moses, with parishioners recounting their favorite Moses stories, including the story of the burning bush, of Moses being put in the river in a reed basket as an infant by his mother, and the Ten Commandments.  Moses showed courage, he also wrote and enjoyed music, he also had periods of doubt.  Moses showed integrity.  Pastor Sandi asked us to ponder if we could step away from a job when integrity was on the line.

Children are returning to their schools.  We will be blessing backpacks in church.

On Saturday September 7th Pastor Sandi and Dave will be hosting a pass dish supper at their home.  Dinner will be at 5:30.  There will be a bonfire after the meal.  All are welcome!
