Jeff Stempien and Gordon Bascom played a duet in our recent service.  Such wonderful music in our little church!

Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

This past Sunday Pastor Sandi talked with us about prayer.  Her teachings on intentional prayer were based on the scripture from Matthew 26: 36-40.  Jesus needed time to step away.  During Lent he knew what was going to happen to him.  During church we had opportunity to write down a prayer, pray silently ourselves or share a prayer with a pew neighbor.

This is the time of year for many of our important church missions.  Firstly, our  nuts have arrived!  If you wish to purchase any packages of nuts, please contact any BPUMC member.  This is an annual sale we have done for years.  The nuts are great quality and also make wonderful holiday gifts.

We will be singing patriotic songs at PY local nursing homes and care facilities on Sunday November 17th at Clinton Crest, PY Manor and the Homestead beginning at 2:30 at Clinton Crest.  The residents really enjoy hearing the patriotic songs and often join in.  See Joyce Wiedrich if you can participate.

We are collecting items and filling boxes for the shoebox ministry.  We are also the local collection spot for other nearby churches.  A sign-up list is going around to help at the time of regional collection.  Pick up a box to fill if you have not already done this.  See Babs Steinert for any questions.

We are collecting Thanksgiving dinner food items to make food baskets for several local families.  Please sign up to help on the poster located in the sanctuary.

The day before Thanksgiving is the busiest fund-raising day for the Yates County Christmas bell-ringing at Tops Market, and the day that BPUMC chooses to help with the event.  We sing carols and ring the bells!  Please sign up to help with this important mission.  We have hour slots on 11/27 set up to ring the bells!   Please see Joyce Wiedrich for questions.

This past Sunday was also pastor appreciation Sunday.  We had a pretty cake to honor Pastor Sandi.
