11-13-19 Article

This past Sunday was All Saints Sunday.  We recognized those friends and family who have gone before us.

Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

This Sunday on All Saints Sunday we were reminded to take time to think about heavenly things.  It is OK to have Sabbath, it is OK to take time for ourselves when we are caregivers to others.  It is a good and joyful action to take time to take care.  We all need time, sleep, and energy.

Pastor Sandi showed the children some Fidget Blankets that Deb Smith will be helping them make.  They have texture, buttons, fuzzy and interesting things on them, to be used at Paul’s Place- a gathering spot for respite for caregivers of those with early onset dementia.

Bible Study at church from 10-11:30 on Wednesday is a study of Moses.  All are welcome!  Thursdays from 4:30-6pm is Old Testament Study.

Coming up:

November 15- 5:30pm.  Pastor Sandi and Dave Perl will talk about Uganda.  They visited there when daughter Allie was there with the Peace Corps.

November 17- We will meet at Clinton Crest to sing patriotic songs to the military.

November 27- Sign up for one hour shifts to ring the bells for Yates County Christmas in front of Tops Market in Penn Yan.

Sign up to bring items for our Thanksgiving Baskets to give to those in need.

Many other opportunities for service are coming up around the holidays, also listed in our church bulletin.
