Another Zoom church service.  A good service at BPUMC!

Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

Our service Sunday opened with the hymn, Let
There be Peace on Earth, and later the hymn, A Closer Walk With Thee.  A prayer was given by Eric Detar.  He addressed the question of where we found Jesus this week, and gave a prayer of letting go of worries.

Scripture was from Luke 24:  13-35.  There was a surprise visitor to the tomb of Jesus on the walk to Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. Women went to the tomb, not to find Jesus.

Pastor Sandi shared that we are followers of Jesus.  We love Jesus and our hearts are on fire. Pastor Sandi challenged us this week to be the heart to someone else.  This was echoed in a prayer given on Monday by Stacy Wyant.

We saw and heard a video, Straight from the Heart, by Bryan Adams.  Some of us saw words of Jesus on the church driveway, from phone cards and cards, distanced bonfires, people sewing face masks, bike rides, hikes on nature trails and morning walks.  Despite the covid pandemic, we are appreciating nature and moments distantly helping others.

Congratulations to Todd and Becci Whitford on the birth of their son, Merik James.

We welcome back more snowbirds, now under self-quarantine.  We also still have prayer shawls available for anyone needing one for family and friends, and will pray over them in Zoom church.
