Millie Albertson enjoys the outdoors on a warm summer July day.

Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

This past Friday about 50 from BPUMC enjoyed a drive by ice cream social at church.  People stayed in their cars and were served ice cream with choices of toppings including syrup, sprinkles, peanuts, whipped cream, cherries and more!  The event was well attended by young and old.

We continue with on-line Zoom services, as church is not open for Sunday worship.  By appointment there are two two-hour time periods where a maximum of two people can come into the church for individual prayer.  Please contact Babs If you wish this opportunity.  Some of the congregation were feeling a need to physically go into our sanctuary to pray.  Each session opportunity will be 25 minutes.  Individuals will need to sign in, and wear a mask.  Hand sanitizer is available.

We will be studying Paul over the next few weeks, with his letters in the book of 2nd Corinthians.  The scripture centered on Paul’s ministry in Corinth, around 50 AD.  Pastor Sandi shared that Paul had many believers, mostly Gentiles, that he had converted.  Paul’s church in Corinth was struggling with division.  Paul met much resistance, and had many struggles, although asked the faithful to stay committed to truth, and shared with them how much he loved them.  Pastor Sandi reflected on Paul’s ability to comfort and minister to others, following in the footsteps of Jesus.  Paul gave generously, was committed
to share the teachings of Jesus, forgave others, and reflected on how God changed his life.  She asked us what we ourselves will do to minister to others.

Stay tuned to the next social sharing drive-through opportunity which Pastor Sandi is planning for every two weeks through summer.  We also will continue with Zoom church.  If you wish to join us, via internet on Sunday at 9:00 am, or for other gatherings, contact Pastor Sandi.  Information is on our Bluff Point United Methodist Church website.  We are also finishing up Bible studies on Ruth, and the Epic of Eden.  We have other sharing opportunities on-line for our youth, as well.
