09-23-20 Article

Thank you Meredith Nielsen for reading scripture this past week in church.  We appreciate our church members that have come for their messages to be prerecorded to use in our Zoom church.

Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

Our scripture this past week was Matthew 18:  21-35.  This scripture is about forgiveness.  We need to forgive not 7 times, but 77 times.  You need to forgive your brother and sister from your heart.

The Jewish high holy days are approaching, with faith, repentance, atonement and humility, as people of the Jewish faith prepare for the beginning of a new year.

Pastor Babs gave the message this week.  She shared with us how we have problems forgiving others.  There is comfort that our weekly scripture.  We need to forgive ourselves and know that God forgives us.  We look back at the Garden of Eden.  We failed there as humanity.  God can not live in the presence of sin.  There was a rescue plan, and here we are 2000 years after Jesus’s birth.  We are a God-fearing group, and mandated to pray.  Prayer is our call!  Thank you Babs for your message of faith.

School is in session.  Let us pray for our young ones, teachers and parents as children learn from school or from home, for their knowledge and safety.

We will be opening church with restrictions in October, every other week at 9am.  Weekly Zoom church sessions will continue.
