Harrison Fitch, Lily Shipman and Lyanna Shipman stand by their cake as they were confirmed into the congregation of BPUMC.

Article by Joyce L. Wiedrich

We were treated today with more music from our choir and from Ron Miller today.  It is great to be back in church with our musical talents at work!

Scripture this past week was from Galatians 4: 4-7.  This scripture, appropriate to the day, shows us that we are heirs of God through Christ.

This past June, nine of the youth from our congregation have been involved in Confirmation, along with guidance from several of the adult mentors from the congregation.  All of the students wrote statements reflecting what Jesus means in their lives, which were read and shared with the congregation.  The youth were reminded to remember their baptism, as they took the steps to be confirmed into the BPUMC.  The congregation in turn pledged to support and guide them as they continue to worship and learn more about Christ.  The youth were given a book of 365 parables which will certainly help guide them, with messages inside from their mentors.  We are so excited and proud of our students as they put in many hours of study to reach this goal. We also thank the parents and mentors for their support.

Those confirmed today included Harrison Fitch, Lily Shipman and Lyanna Shipman.  Congratulations on making this important step as you continue to grow in Christ.  The other six students will be confirmed in early August.  Harrison, Lily and Lyanna joined the congregation after church celebrating with a cake in their honor.

We continue with both Zoom and in-person Sunday worship at 9am on Sundays.  All are welcome!
