Pages - November 2011

                                   Pages

It occurred to me that I am not the one turning the pages of my day
I am not the one to determine when a new scene comes into play

I complain that good times go by too fast
The bad times seem to linger and never pass

Sometimes it is hard to embrace the pace set by God and give up control
To realize that grief, disappointment and rejection help us to form a strong mold

Often times we learn more in the shadows than in the sun
It is better to strive for first base than give up everything for a home run

When fearful storms in our lives rage
We need to remember God is the one turning the page

We all lose some games and win others
But God is there with loving arms that covers

God sets the pace and is the author of our lives
Embrace the pace cheerfully as each day we survive

Our steps are directed by the Lord
We need to love and praise Him and get on board

We need to let him lead us by the hand
Because page after page he is in command
