We are looking forward to our annual Harvest Dinner on Saturday,
November 3rd, beginning at 4:30 PM. The menu includes roast turkey,
trimmings, dessert, and beverage. The price of tickets: Adult - $8.50;
Children between the ages of 5 and 12 - $5.00, Under age 5 - free. Take-
outs are, as always, available.

DO NOT drive around BEHIND the
church. The back of the church is a construction area, and there is no way
to drive/walk through this space. People will be outdoors to help drivers…

The Turkey Walk will be held the next day, Sunday, November 4th.
Registration for this walk is at 1:00 PM, and the walk itself begins at 1:30
PM. If you are interested and/or have any questions, please see Sarah
Stackhouse, Laurie Prinzivalli, Ryan Andersen, and/or Donna Johnston.

The week of November 12th - 19th has been designated for Operation
Shoebox collection. Laurie Prinzivalli has hand-outs for folks who are
filling a shoebox for a youngster - three different ages for boys and three
different ages for girls. Ideas include small toys, school supplies, hygiene
items, and a short note to the child for whom you are filling the box of
goodies, and maybe even a photo of yourself and your family.
In addition, you are being asked to donate $7 for each shoe box you
prepare. This money helps to cover shipping and other project costs. (FYI:
This is the first increase since this shoebox project began thirteen years

Speaking of the joy of our childrens’ big hearts: They sent in a new
big jar of pennies for Milly’s Pantry. $54.03!! This makes a whopping total
of $441.59!!! We had the pleasure of meeting Milly Bloomquist earlier this
fall when she visited Bluff Point UMC…

Donna Johnston is our church spokesperson/go-to lady for Christmas
for the Needy. She can update you and give you further details regarding
this wonderful, huge, and special community project. She can be reached at

Don’t forget to set your clocks BACK on Saturday night, November
4th! Daylight Saving Time ends this week…

Work has begun on our addition! Physical signs are not very evident
because most of the work is being done in the back and it is below-ground.
We did watch footers and walls being poured today (10/24/12). You can see
more photos about this construction project at our web site: The first item on the first page (the home page)
lets you know what to do and where to go to see progress and pictures, and
it’s all very easy. You will find that Phil has labeled and sequenced each
photo as well.

Please keep those who are serving our country in your thoughts and prayers.
