Bluff Point UMC article for 12/19/12

Readers will enjoy checking out the parables that our dear friend and
former pastor Bruce Westerdahl has written and contributed to our website
at He has written two parables for December:
“Losing Christmas Traditions” (December 4th) and “A King Is Born…in a
Stable!” (December 11th).

Choir has been very busy and we eagerly await our Christmas Eve
service to hear them. Their music is always perfect for the occasion…
They have been working very hard.

A children’s Christmas service will be held on Sunday, December
23rd, at 9:00 AM. Bring your children, bring your grandchildren, bring your
friends, bring your friends’ children/grandchildren…

Our traditional Christmas Eve service will be at 7:00 PM on Monday
evening, December 24th. We will celebrate the birth of Jesus with
communion, candles, Christmas carols, and, of course, the Christ Child.

Ladies gather for lunch at the Antique Inn at every Tuesday at 12:00

Bible Study is on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM at the church and/or every
Thursday evening at 7:30 PM at Pastor Judy’s home. Anyone may come;
no previous knowledge of the Bible is required.

Participants at our December 23rd service are: Liturgist - Ron Salyer;
Greeters – Blanche & Dorwin Fingar; Ushers – Helen & Dana Schillinger;
Scripture Reader – Marguerite Miller; Sunday School – No Sunday School
today; Counters – Ron Salyer & Ed Head; Nursery – No Nursery today. The
title of Pastor Judy’s sermon for this morning is “The Touch of God”.

Our thanks to the congregation for our fellowship this morning.
We’re asking that everybody bring one dozen of your favorite homemade
Christmas cookies for our gathering today. Coffee and tea will be provided.
