Bluff Point UMC article for 1/30/13

Our kids here at Bluff Point UMC have been saving and collecting
pennies for the Backpack Program at Milly’s Pantry for way over a year.

Donations of these needed food items for the Backpack Program would be
most appreciated: granola/breakfast bars, macaroni and cheese (individual
or family size), and individual cereals.

Food for the Needy needs cereal, cans of corn, and cans of peas. Any
questions, please call Donna Johnston at 536-2683. A donation of one item
per week by each family at Bluff would amount to a large supply of these

On Sunday, February 10th, we will have a Valentine Sunday
Celebration during fellowship. Everyone is encouraged to bring a Valentine
card and place it in the box in the “Gathering Room”.

On Tuesday, February 12th, Shrove Tuesday/Fat Tuesday Pancake
Supper will be served at 6:00 PM.

If Shrove Tuesday is February 12th, then Ash Wednesday must be
February 13th. An Ash Wednesday service will be held at 7:00 PM. this

Bible Study is on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM at the church and/or every
Thursday evening at 7:00 PM at Pastor Judy’s home. Anyone may come;
no previous knowledge of the Bible is required.

Participants at our service for February 3rd are: Liturgist - Dick Smith;
Greeters – Phil & Kathy Burdick; Ushers – Chris & Stacy Wyant; Scripture
Reader – Barbara Bailey; Sunday School – Pam Althouse; Counters – Ron
Salyer and Ed Head; Nursery – Jessica Kenneda and Phil Pearce.
