Caption: We receive great pleasure when we listen to the musicians within
our church family. Not long ago, Marguerite Miller and Bruce Westerdahl,
accompanied by Ron Miller, sang “Let Me Touch Him” for us. Later in the
service, we enjoyed hearing Ron Miller play “Amazing Grace” on the piano.
Our special music is always loaded with special!

Bluff Point UMC article for 2/20/13
This month, Food for the Needy is requesting cereal, cans of corn,
and cans of peas.
The Backpack Program always needs individual granola and/or
breakfast bars. In addition, family and individual-size Mac & Cheese is
needed for the Backpack Progrm, as well as individual cereals. Any
questions/offers of help, please call Donna Johnston at 536-2683.
Lent has begun. Our first Lenten Supper here at Bluff is this evening
from 6:00 - 7:15 PM. The title for tonight’s lesson is “Walking with Jesus”.

FYI, and so that you can signup on the clipboard if you are interested
in attending, here are the titles for the next four suppers/lessons: February
27th is titled “Listening to Jesus”. March 6th is titled “Eating with Jesus”.
March 13th is titled “Watching Jesus’ Miracles”, and the title for our final
dinner, held on “March 20th, is “Suffering with Jesus”.
The Penn Yan Area Council of Churches has announced its schedule
for this year’s Lenten lunches. Lunches will begin at 12:00 noon, they will
be held at the First Baptist Church The cost is $5.00 per person.
The theme for this year’s lunches is “The Qualities of Christ”. This
year’s speakers will highlight passages in Scripture which illustrate some
of Jesus’s inspiring qualities as his death approached.
The second luncheon for this 2013 Lenten Luncheon series will be
held tomorrow, Thursday, February 21st . The speaker for this luncheon is
Rev. David Smith. The title of Rev. Smith’s talk is “Helping One Another”,
and is based on Matthew 25: 31-46.
Bible Study is on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM at the church and/or every
Thursday evening at 7:00 PM, also at the church. Anyone may come;
no previous knowledge of the Bible is required.
Participants at our service for February 24th are: Liturgist - Dick
Smith; Greeters – Bev Dean and Ron Sergent; Ushers – Phil & Kathy
Burdick; Scripture Reader – Sarah Stackhouse; Sunday School – Meredith
Nielsen; Counters – Elly Stempien and Bill Sutherland; Nursery – Chris &
Stacy Wyant. The title of Pastor Judy’s sermon for this morning is “The
Lord’s Longing”.
Our thanks to Ron & Jane Salyer for their gift of fellowship following
this morning’s worship.
Happy Birthday wishes to Sylvia DeMay (21), Elly Stempien (22),
Sarah Tones (22), Laura Hammond (23), Pat Owen (25) Joel Warren (25),
and Jennifer Rugg (27). We have a Very Special and Very Big Birthday to
announce for this week: Laurie Prinzivalli’s Grammie Freda, a most
endearing lady, will be 100 on the 22nd of February!!
