OUR NEW NURSERY by Kathy Burdick
Our new nursery is perfect for our little people! It is very light and airy. It is painted a soft yellow with white window trim, shelves and bookcases. There are two windows with half-moon windows above. The whole area is carpeted for ideal playing on the floor, and a table and sink are available for coloring, creating and other crafts. (And for evening meetings…) One of the first things visible when entering the room is a rocking chair. To this writer, a rocker stands for “warmth” and “love”.
There are books for reading and books for coloring. There are stuffies for holding and stuffies for cuddling. Stuffies can also be used for playing house, along with the toy beds and toy kitchen appliances.
Each and every child who uses this nursery has got to feel a certain sense of safety and security knowing that they are right across from the sanctuary; they know that Mommy and Daddy are just a hop, skip, and a jump away.
Much love and a great deal of thought has gone into the planning and building of this nursery, and it is being very much used and enjoyed.
