Children’s sermons are wonderful! There is so much that can be
learned in a children’s sermon, for the younger folks AND the older folks.
Much information is packed into a 10-minute lesson for our youngsters. For
instance: Did you know that eggs, bunnies, and Peeps are an Easter symbol
of “new life”? Did you know that Peeps have been around since 1920?
Eggs also represent the tomb in which Jesus lay. There was a time
when eggs could not be eaten during Lent, and so they were colored to help
preserve them.

A final Easter symbol - pretzels. A Catholic monk designed these
tasty snacks to look like hands and arms crossed and praying.
All these bits of information add insights to our knowledge and
awareness of Easter and its traditions.

You, my friends, have just received a more shortened version of a
children’s sermon!! (My thanks to Rev. Judy White…)
