Our biggest and best news for this week is that our Harvest Dinner is
coming right up this weekend!  Our Annual Harvest Dinner will be held this
Saturday evening, November 2, 2013.  It will begin at 4:30 PM and will
continue until all are served.  We will be serving roast turkey with all the
trimmings including beverage, ending with some yummy pie for dessert.
An adult dinner costs $8.50 and children’s tickets (ages 5-12), are $5.00.
Take-outs will be available.  Hope to see you there…

The Penn Yan Council of Churches will be holding their Turkey
Hunger Walk on November 3rd, 2013, beginning at 1:00 PM at the First
Presbyterian Church in Penn Yan.  The money raised from this walk will be
used to buy the meat - hams and turkeys - for Christmas for the Needy
distribution.  Please address further questions to Donna Johnston at (315)
536-2683, or email her at

The United Methodist Churches of Yates County are launching a local
mission project called The Living Well.  The Living Well reaches out to all
our neighbors in the county with this teaching of Christ, “Love your
neighbor as yourself”.

A goal of the Living Well is that it can reach out to neighbors in this
county by helping with emergency needs such as food, dry goods, utilities,
referral services, providing vouchers to the Once Again Shoppe for furniture
and clothing, and/or act as a clearinghouse for churches to send people in
need.  The Living Well is hopeful that it can also develop some additional
“Storefront” worship opportunities.

The Living Well is located at 121 East Elm Street in Penn Yan and
will be available to anyone living in Yates County.  This mission anticipates
being able to provide services from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM and Tuesday
evenings from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Our church, Bluff Point UMC, is responsible for Wednesday
afternoons.  If you would like to volunteer, please talk to Pastor Judy or
Laurie Prinzivalli.  Your commitment is only for one or two hours once a
month, maybe a little bit more as we are working to get this ministry going.

Participants at our November 3rd service are:  Liturgist:  Bill
Sutherland; Greeters: Clarice Hardy and Marilyn Sands; Ushers: Gene &
Marilyn James; Scripture Reader: Helen Schillinger; Sunday School: Sarah
Stackhouse; Counters:  Ellie Stempien and Bill Sutherland; Nursery:
Blanche Fingar and Laurie Prinzivalli.  Communion Steward for this first
Sunday of November is Terry Fingar.

Our thanks to Bill & Delores Sutherland, for their gift of fellowship after
this morning’s worship.

We will be celebrating a popular Christmas tradition at Bluff by having a
Shoebox Ministry Packaging Party on Tuesday, November 12th, and
EVERYONE is invited!!  We are hoping to pack fifty boxes!!

Happy Birthday to our favorite witch, Jean Morehouse, on October
31st  - HALLOWEEN!   And we can’t leave out these birthdays:  Ruth
Drumm (2) Caralynne Cole (2), Millie Albertson (3), and Jim Houle (5).

Don’t forget to set your clock BACK on Saturday night...

Please keep those who are serving our country in your thoughts and prayers…
