Christmas Thankfulness by Blanche Fingar 12-24-13

What are you most thankful for this year at Christmastime?
Are you thankful that your deepest secret prayer turned out fine?

Are you thankful for a comfortable home and plenty to eat?
To nourish your body and protect you from the cold and heat

Are you thankful for the time you have to spend with your mate?
And that God brought you together it was not just by fate

Are you thankful for your family and that one special friend?
That will walk with you through your peaks and valleys and always defend

Are you thankful for the dedication and love of a child?
That can brighten a dark day with a hug and a smile

Are you thankful for your good health?
It is priceless, more valuable than any wealth

Are you thankful to live in a country where we can be free?
Or for the brave American soldier that protects you and me

Are you thankful you live in one of the most beautiful areas on earth?
And every spring everything comes alive with a rebirth

Are you thankful that you live in a community that really does care?
And for the less fortunate they are so willing to share

Are you thankful that God sent to us his only son?
That one day we can all be together as one

So tonight as we celebrate the birth of this holy child
Lets try to make all of our actions seem worthwhile

Whatever you are most thankful for this year
May you live in God’s presence and spread a little good cheer

Merry Christmas
