The family of Bill Sutherland gathered as we dedicated the William Sutherland church addition to his memory.
Our friend Bill Sutherland was the contractor on the addition and was there most every day as the work was being completed.

Another very special Sunday at Bluff Point, United, Methodist Church. We had the dedication of our prayer shawl ministry to all of those that have worked on making prayer shawls. We now have given over 490 prayer shawls to people in need since 2007 when Nancy Wilmott started this ministry.
Our scripture this week, read by Grady Bray, was from Matthew 22: 15-22. The Jews were forbidden to have graven images. Jesus was challenged by the Pharisees and the Herodians about paying taxes to Caesar, as on the Denarius was an image of Caesar.
How often are we made uncomfortable by conversations of jobs, morals, or politics? Pastor Jeannine asked us the question of what would’ve happened if Jesus was on the political trail? Satan and the Pharisees were playing the same role in this scripture as Jews were for bidden to have graven images.
Today we know we need to pay God back what is his. We need to give to God what is Gods. The greatest gift of God is ourselves. We are God’s and need to accept him as our savior.
Lots of things coming up. November 12 is bring a friend Sunday. On Sunday, November 19 we will be dedicating the portico in memory of Keith Hardy. Then we will be smack dab in the middle of advent and the holiday season. Where has the year gone?
Now is the time of year to tithe for the next year. There are cards in the gathering room and a box to place your tithe for this next year in the church sanctuary. Be thinking of how you will support the church this coming year in terms of your service and monetary support.
