Thanks to all who helped with bell ringing this year. Our church always rings the bells for Yates County Christmas the day before Thanksgiving. People were very generous. Some of us even sang Christmas carols during our hour of ringing to get in the spirit of the season!
Our scripture this past week was Matthew 25: 31-46. This was the parable of the goats and sheep. The parable is not about us, but about helping others. Somethings we can do this season include to support the food needs of the Living Well, give to Yates County Christmas, and carol and visit shut ins. In Bible times goats were used as a sacrifice. Sheep were those looking for Christ- sheep were lead by a shepherd who is God. Pastor Jeannine asked us how many of us have gone out of our way to help others lately? Have we visited prisoners, clothed the naked, or fed the poor? Have you seen God lately? We need to open ourselves up to know our God.
Bible study is at noon at the church on Mondays. Note the time change. All are welcome.
Remember your mittens, hats and scarves for our mitten tree. Our Angel tree gifts are due to be back to the church by December 10th. On Christmas Eve there will be no morning service at church, but a Christmas Eve service at 7 PM. Please mark your calendar!
Our sincere condolences to Leah Dibble, and the Dibble family. Dick Dibble passed away recently at his home with hospice and family care. Dick was such a stalwart member of our church. He willingly helped on many trustee projects. You could often see him at church painting and sanding the church doors. He was certainly a follower of Christ, and will be so missed by his church family.
