On this past Sunday we recognized our veterans and also many visitors as it also was bring a friend to church Sunday. It was also second Sunday brunch. We Methodists enjoy socializing, and brunch or snacks after church!
The scripture reading was from Matthew 25: 1- 13. This passage was about 10 virgins, waiting for the bride groom, five were foolish and five were wise. They were carrying their lamps and all fell asleep. Pastor Jeannine explained it in those days the bride groom could come at any time and people at the wedding had to wait for the wedding, which could be at any time.
Today we are waiting for the second coming of Jesus. Pastor Jeannine told his story of children looking out the window, leaving their handprints, watching and waiting for Jesus. She asked the question of how prepared are we for Christ? We don’t know when the Lord will come. We only know when Christ returns it will be the great feast. We all need to get prepared and be ready!
Bible study on Mondays at 1:30 continues, the study is based on the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life.
In our sanctuary, the mitten tree has been placed. Please bring hand knit scarves, hats and mittens or ones that you have purchased to adorn our tree!
